Preston Dennis Golding, 60, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Shelby Pointe Nursing Home in Shelby, Ohio. He was born on November 9, 1955, the son of the late Preston Palmer and Jean “Betty” (nee McConnell) Golding.
Preston was an accomplished roller dance skater, chef and musician. He was a talented pianist and drummer and was also very good with computers. He was a member of the NRA and he enjoyed target shooting.
Preston had worked previously as a chef for the Elyria Country Club, a lab tech at LCCC and a computer technician, working on computer chips at RELTEC.
Preston’s survivors include his sister, Saundra Golding of Sheffield village and several cousins.
A Graveside Committal will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Grove Street Cemetery, New London.

Mike “Scorp” Crnobrnja
Mike “Scorp” Crnobrnja, 86, of Lorain, died unexpectedly Friday, May 20, 2016, at his home. He was born December 4, 1929, in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.
Mike graduated from Clearview High School and served with the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He attended Ohio University and earned a Bachelor Degree in mechanical engineering.
Mike worked at NASA in Brook Park, as an aeronautical engineer, retiring in 1982. He had involvement in the Centaur, Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. He was particularly proud of his contribution to the design of the system that kept astronauts safe during their re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere.
He was an avid golfer and bowler and played fast pitch softball at Oakwood Park in Lorain. He was a member of AMVETS Post #47 in Lorain.
He is survived by his children, Lori Crnobrnja of Grafton, Michael Crnobrnja of Avon Lake, Larry (Cheryl) Crnobrnja of Greenville, South Carolina and Randy (Michele) Crnobrnja of Amherst; grandchildren, Brian (Tennille) Crnobrnja, Andy Crnobrnja, Adam Crnobrnja, Michelle (John) Pendleton and Krista (Joe) Balwinski; great-grandchildren, Johanna Pendleton and Garren Crnobrnja.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Johanna “Lona” Crnobrnja (nee Longoria) on September 24, 2014; father, Sam Crnobrnja and mother, Mary Velemirovich.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 25, from 4 until 8 P.M., at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 26, at 11 A.M., in the funeral chapel, with the Reverend Father Srnisha Hrvacevic, Pastor of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain, presiding. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township, where the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of Lorain will conduct Military Honors.

Doris Mae Demorest
Doris Mae Demorest (nee McAndrews), 93, of Sheffield Lake, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016, at her home. She was born in Lorain and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake for the past year, moving from Elyria. She previously lived in Ashtabula, Lorain and Phoenix, Arizona.
Doris enjoyed reading, crocheting and needle working.
Survivors include her sons, Howard “Butch” (Sara) Hewitt of Elyria; daughters, Barbara Hewitt of Sheffield Lake, Patricia (David) Danker and Sandra Stevens of Sheffield Lake; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard “Pete” Hewitt; second husband, Howard Demorest; daughter, Sharon Hewitt; sons, Timothy Earl and James; sister, Evelyn Versace and her parents, George and Gladys McAndrews.
Friends may call Tuesday, May 31, from 11 A.M., until the time of Service at 12 Noon, at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
