Lois Johnson, 81, of Elyria, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2012.

Lois was a graduate of Alice Lloyd College in Southeastern Kentucky. She was a school teacher in the Midview School District for many years.

Along with her husband, Paul, Lois was a former Charter member of Midview Baptist Church, a former member of First Baptist Church of Valley City, and for the last several years, a very devoted member of College Heights Baptist Church of Elyria, where she was affectionately known as “Nanny”. She and Paul were avid supporters of all the sports teams at First Baptist Christian School in Elyria. She loved and followed her Kentucky Wildcats and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul L. Johnson; children, Brenda (John) Milam of Grafton, Mike (Barb) Johnson of Toledo, Greg (Karen) Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Melissa (Chuck) Kennedy of Elyria; grandchildren, Kevin (Brittany) Johnson, Kyle and Kris Johnson, Matt (Dana) Johnson, Shawna (Kyle) Johnson, Katie (Dave) Schaff, Travis Kennedy and Brandon Chastain; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Deloy, Carter, Graham and Milam. Born August 5, 1931, Lois was the fifth of 10 children born to Ruby and Effie Watts of Knott County, Kentucky. All her loving siblings survive and include, Vanessa Austin, Mildred Blair, Dr. Gene Watts, Leo (Pearl) Watts, Eleanor (Ed) Bolen, Alma (Jack) Waddell, Palma (Bud) Cornett, Ed (Pat) Watts, and Sue (Rudean) Adams.

To join Loiss family in celebrating her life, friends may call Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at College Heights Baptist Church, 980 N. Abbe Road, Elyria, from 3 until 8 P.M. Her funeral service will be at the church Thursday, August 23, 2012, at 11 A.M. Committal service will be Friday, August 24, 3012, 12:30 P.M., at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.

Loiss memory will live on through the many lives of those she touched. Her Godly example of love and encouragement, guidance and prayer has made us who we are today. Thank you for enriching our lives, Nan. Until the day we join you in heaven, well deeply miss you!
