Paul proudly served in the United States Army/Air Force after World War II. He was an inspector at U.S. Steel in Lorain for 30 years before retiring in 1981. Paul attended Church of the Nazarene in Lorain, Church of the Open Door in Elyria and Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Elyria. He loved to play shuffle board, especially while staying in Florida, and received several trophies for his tournament victories. His hobbies included collecting knives, mall walking, oil painting, wood working, blue grass music and watching basketball. Paul enjoyed traveling, especially with his family. Paul leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 2 1/2 years, Mary Diamond-Edison (nee Childers); his daughters and their husbands, Marcella and Dick Tracey of Knoxville, Tennessee, Regina and Robert Gow of Amherst, Sandra and Robert Bodnar, Vickie and Kenneth Schmidt, all of Lorain, Rhonda Turnbull of Elyria; his stepdaughters and their husbands, Debbie and Jim Hiler of Tiro, Ohio, Donna and Rick Slavic of Hernando, Florida, Linda and Denham York of Harlan, Kentucky, Mary and Denny Matovich of Oberlin; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Janice Pernice and Phyllis Tackett ,both of Warren, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Charlotte Edison (nee Bond) on October 30, 2008; his brothers, Fred, Earl, Wayne and Bob; sister, Catherine Kiser; and his parents, Everett and Elizabeth Edison (nee Waggoner). He was born May 31, 1928 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Paul was raised in Kentucky, and at the age of 16, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland. In 1952, Paul moved to Lorain and then to Vermilion, where he resided for many years. During his retirement years, from 1981 to 2008, Paul lived between Bristol, Virginia and North Fort Meyers, Florida.
