Funeral Flowers

Jennie M. Daly (nee Zaleski), 99, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2012, at the Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville, following a brief illness. She was born January 27, 1913, in Elyria, and was a lifelong Elyria resident.

Jennie owned Daly’s Carry Out Store, which was on Middle Ave. for 25 years, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, the Altar and Rosary Society of the Church and Catholic Daughters of America. Jennie was also involved with St. Mary quilters who made quilts that were raffled off at many church functions, participated in the CROP walks and Peace and Justice walks. She was active with Elyria Parks and Recreation Active People, a volunteer with Hot Meals Program at St. Mary Church, and The Salvation Army, was a volunteer at EMH Healthcare, accumulating over 2,000 hours, and was a member of the Elyria United Polish Club Auxiliary. She enjoyed shuffleboard, walking, dancing, crafts and activities with family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Jezewski of Elyria; grandchildren, Deborah and David (wife,Sherri); great-grandchildren, Alexis and Nickolas; sister, Cecilia Rozga of Grafton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1960; sister, Virginia Parker; and brothers, Frank, Adam and Matthew “Memo” Zaleski.

The family will receive friends Friday (today) 4 until 6 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, where members of the Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:45 P.M. Visitation will also be Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10 A.M., in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. The Reverend Charles Diedrick, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.

Sympathy Flowers for Home

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Church, St. Mary School, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Mistry and the staff of Center Ridge Health Campus.
