He worked at Fruehauf for 22 years and was a custodian for Avon Schools and the City of Avon Street Dept. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Avon and also a Little League baseball coach. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joan (nee Reisinger) Simkovich; children, Sharon (Larry) Jones, Gary (Randi), Jane (Robert) Wood, and Mark (Anita); grandchildren, Brian, Brad, Bret, Kelly, April, Heather, Stefani and Corey; and great-grandchildren, Erin, Seth, Alexandra and Samantha; sisters, Maryann Alkier, Martha Woods; and brother, John (Evelyn) Simkovich. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (nee Kesock) Simkovich; a baby boy; and brother, George; and sister, Marie Vernarsky. The family will receive friends at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon, Friday, August 3, 2012 from 1 to 3 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Closing prayers will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. followed by a 10 A.M. Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Avon. He lived in Avon for the past 60 years.
