She worked at the Elyria Methodist Home as a Nurses Aide, retiring after 19 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Elyria for 40 years, where she served as a Church Mother. She also served as a church usher, for many years. In addition to loving the church, she enjoyed cooking, her family, and playing cards. Johnnie Mae leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Janie M. Williams of Lorain; four grandchildren, Shirley (Bobby) Williams-Jenkins of Houston, Texas, Janet Williams of Lorain, Cynthia (Rodney) Williams-Washington of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Traci Williams-Miles of Mahboula, Kuwait; 11 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; a “beloved son”, John Jackson of Lorain; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Reed; her parents, John and Maude Morgan; her sister, Eonia Lambert; and brother, Willie Lee Jones. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, 452 Mussey Ave., Elyria. Rev. Earnest Robinson, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
