From 1943 to 1947, he was owner and operator of Lenny’s Soda Grill in Maple Heights. He was retired as CEO and Vice President of Tupperware Home Parties, serving the Mid Central Region of the United States for 35 years. He was also a Tupperware designer. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Avon Lake, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and also active in the Young Spirits through the church. He was an “Associate of St. Brother Andre”, at St. Joseph’s Oratory, Montreal, Canada. He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris E. Kopowski (nee Schwartz); father of Lenny L. (wife Barbara, deceased) of Melbourne, Kentucky, Larry M. of Fairfield, Ohio, Mary Ann Bergan of North Ridgeville, and Kathy Von Duhn of Avon Lake; grandfather of 10; and great-grandfather of seven; uncle and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews; brother of the following deceased, Elsie Youngs, Florence Peebles, and Richard Kopowski. Family will receive friends Sunday, July 15, 2012, from 4 until 8 P.M., at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 16, 2012, 10 A.M., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 410 Lear Road, Avon Lake, 44012 (Meet at church). Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Jaycox Rd., Avon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holy Spirit Food Bank in Avon Lake, or the Holy Spirit Children’s PSR (Parish School of Religion), both at Holy Spirit Church, 410 Lear Rd., Avon Lake, 44012, or the St. Joseph Overnight Shelter, P.O. Leonard J. Kopowski, 89, of Avon Lake, died Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Ames Hospice of the Western Reserve, Westlake. He was born February 7, 1923, in Maple Hts., and had moved from Rocky River and Bay Village to Avon Lake.
