Elizabeth A. Diederich (nee Kinzel), 89, passed away peacefully in her home, Friday July 13, 2012. Elizabeth was born November 4, 1922 in Avon, and was a life long resident of Avon.

She was a hard working farm girl, born and raised in her homestead, where she remained after she married and raised her family. She was married to Raymond A. Diederich for 67 years. Together they farmed and took their produce to Lakewood Market. “Betty” was noted for her ability to play the piano without notes, as she played “by ear.” She always entertained her family and friends, to their delight. Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Alter & Rosary Society and past president of the Women’s Democratic Club. She was involved in the Avon Senior Center, and gave them many hours of enjoyment playing her lively tunes. She enjoyed cooking and baking, known to some as the real “Betty Crocker.”

She is survived by her four children, Elizabeth (Henry) Wojciechowski, Raymond (Denise), Eloise (Don) Stiffler, Frannie (George) Pavlovcic; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was cared for in her home by her grandson, Andrew Abfall and his wife, Mary, thus enabling her dying wish to pass at home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Diederich; grandson, Rodney Diederich; two brothers; and seven sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon, Monday July 16, 2012, from 4 until 8 P.M., where closing prayers will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at 9:15 A.M., followed by a 10 A.M. funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Avon. Interment is private.
