Joy E. Beckloff (nee McConnell), 65, of Elyria, died Friday, August 17, 2012, at EMH Healthcare, after a long illness. She was born November 16, 1946, in Elyria, and was a 1964 graduate of Elyria High School. Joy and her late husband owned and operated Beck’s Door Service in Elyria for 20 years. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Elyria, and enjoyed bowling and cross-stitch. Joy is survived by her sons, Jeffery Matthews of Wooster, Chris Matthews of Elyria, Brian (Tamara) Beckloff of Grafton and Aaron Beckloff of Elyria; daughters, Mischelle (John) Helterbridle of Knoxville,Tennessee and Danielle (Matt) Swords of Elyria. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; sister, Carole Wright of Surprise, Arizona; and brother, Don McConnell of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Beckloff in 1999; a nephew, Kenneth Vietzen in 2003; and parents, Harold and Jean McConnell. Family will received friends Tuesday, August 21, 2012, from 5 until 8 P.M., in the Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria, where a funeral service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 11 A.M.
