Dorothy M. Banks (nee Klingbeil), 96 years and a resident of Amherst, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at EMH Healthcare, after a short illness. Dorothy was born in Cleveland on May 11, 1916 to the late George and Margaret (nee Leonard) Klingbeil. For the past 73 years she has been an Amherst resident. Dorothy spent her career working at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home, Lorain, first in the laundry department and then as a nurses aid. She was employed there for 25 years. She loved to crochet and was an excellent housekeeper. Surviving is her son, Larry Watson of Amherst; daughter-in-law, Maryann Watson of Amherst; grandchildren, Ronald Pence of Amherst and Amy (Rob) Keown of Sheffield Lake; and her sister-in-law, Kay Klingbeil of Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Watson and Maurice Banks; her son, Norman Watson; sister, Alberta Schill; four brothers, George, Clarence, Raymond, and Johnny Klingbeil. Family will receive friends Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst. The funeral service will be 11 A.M., Monday, August 20, 2012 in the funeral home, with Rev. David T. Hill, pastor of First Church in Oberlin, officiating. Burial will follow in Nesbett Cemetery, Grafton Township.
